Must know facts before trying Laser Hair Removal for Your Face

Unwanted hair growth is a major issue that many women have to deal with. Often we have to resort to non-permanent hair removal methods on a monthly or a weekly basis. The whole process can be quite task, and for many a painful and embarrassing situation; especially those who have excessive facial hair. Most often you would be advised to go for permanent hair removal with laser treatment.

Know what it is:  Laser hair removal is a medical procedure where laser – an intense pulsating beam of light released at high frequency – is used to burn out the hair follicles in your skin. During the procedure the pulsed beam of light passes through your skin targeting individual hair follicle. The aim is to damage the roots so that the future hair growth is inhibited.

Seek expert advice: Consulting a good doctor is very important in this case because wrongly done laser treatment can not only be ineffective and can leave you with sensitive pigmented skin. Laser hair removal is a personalized treatment that needs highly individual attention. Your dermatologist or laser treatment expert will consult you before to check the quality of your skin and body hair.

Hair and skin colour decides the results: This is because the laser targets the hair pigment. Laser hair removal works best for people with dark, coarse hair and light skin tone. Based on the area of the hair to be removed your dermatologist will decide on the specific type of laser to use. Your results from a laser hair removal treatment will depend on few things like coarseness of your hair, your skin tone, skin thickness etc.

Once is not enough: You will need multiple sessions – 4 to 6 sittings – before you can expect to see results. In most cases after few sessions you will notice your hair growth slowing down, so you have an extended period of smooth hair-free skin. One warning though, a treatment does not guarantee permanent hair removal. You might see lighter growth coming back after a long period. In such situation you will have to go for periodic maintenance sessions.

  1. The best way you can play up the pink hue right now is to put on a skin that’s matte but sheer. Apply a mousse foundation on your face and neck. For a sheer finish, use very little of the product.
  2. Dust a translucent powder to set the base and give you soft glow.
  3. Do up your eyes with earthy pink and brown shadow. Apply the pink shade on the lid till the crease. Use a dark purple shade close to your upper lash line. Smudge it and add dollops of mascara on your upper and lower lashes.
  4. Dab a rosy pink blush on the apple of your cheeks blend well with your fingers in a circular motion to get natural effect.
  5. To finish the look first line and fill your lips with a nude pink lip liner. Then apply a matte pink lipstick on your lips to add more intensity to your pink lips.
